{Erin & Matt ~ Engaged}

This engagement session was a very fun one. You see, Erin is Brandon’s sister. We have had the unique opportunity to watch their relationship progress and were very excited when Matt popped the question. Since they are planning their wedding for next fall in Nashville, they wanted to bring in some Cookeville scenes into their engagement photos. So we started at the depot and worked our way around town.

Erin’s laugh is contagious and Matt is simply perfect for her, always making sure she’s happy. These two made for a great session and we had a beautiful day for it. They are obviously in love and we cannot wait for their wedding! Without further ado, here are some favorites from their session…

Check out this ring from Tiffany & Company! Gorgeous.

Elizabeth - Beautiful couple, amazing photos, and WOW – what a ring!

{Julia ~ Senior}

I met Julia when she was a bridesmaid during one of my weddings earlier this year. She has the most gorgeous red hair and blue eyes. She is a quiet beauty and we had a fun time out in the country for her senior session. It was a fabulous fall day and the leaves and sun gave a perfect background for this sweet young lady. Here are a few of my favorites…

{The Randolph Family}

This family was so much fun to work with. Each of them had their own “thing” and it made them so unique, but at the same time this family was such a cohesive unit. The boys were some of the most well-mannered I’ve seen, and the parents were open to anything. Here’s a small peek of some of the greats from their day.

Such a sweet couple!Karate Kid…

Tyler’s totally into “The Flash” comic book character, so Brandon did this shot just for him …

{Dora & Don ~ Newlyweds}

Dora and Don were married last December in a private ceremony. So private, in fact, that I was the only witness! (Click here for photos from their wedding ceremony)

Although they had set a date for a larger wedding and she had purchased her dress, they decided not to wait and so they went ahead with their vows. It was wonderful, beautiful and moving…but it left one problem: she had a gorgeous dress just sitting in the closet. So, that in mind, we discussed having a bridal session. She was eager but wanted her groom there also. So we made a plan for a “first look” so that we could capture Don’s face as he saw Dora in that gorgeous wedding gown, and then we headed to the mountain for some beautiful shots with awesome scenery. Here are a few of my favorites from their session:

Nikki Garrison - Dora! You are beyond beautiful!!! :) And Lindsay, you got some AMAZING shots!

{Blythe ~ Senior}

Blythe’s mom called me to schedule her daughter’s senior photos, and told me this session would be a bit “different.” You see, Blythe shows cattle, and has won many prizes in doing so, so they wanted some shots of her with her cows. I was immediately excited because I always love shooting on farms, and this sounded like a very interesting session. On the day we had scheduled for photos the sky was grey, it was cold, and the rain was looming. Nonetheless, we traveled to Crossville and poor Blythe braved the cold and misty rain that had started and we began to get some great shots. Brandon photographed with me, and as luck would have it, toward the end of the session, the clouds started to disperse and some beautiful color was coming out of the sky! If you know much about Lindsay Gross Photography, you know that Brandon is the master at dramatic skies. So there we were, tromping in a cow pasture with big rain boots (thanks to mom Debra) with cows and mosquitoes all around, and we’re loving it! Thank goodness we stuck out the cold and rain for this. We had already gotten some beautiful shots, but this sunset was a bonus! Below are some of our favorites from this shoot. Thanks Blythe and Debra for being so awesome, interesting, fun and patient. We hope you love these as much as we do!

This is what the sky looked like when we started shooting:

Cloudy days aren’t all bad. We actually like shooting in them because they produce soft and flattering light. (Like Blythe needed any help – gorgeous!)

I must tell you, these cows WANTED their photo taken. They lined up and posed. No kidding.

And then, the sun broke through and we got some great color in the sky…
These cows were in a separate pasture. They apparently wanted their photo taken too. They saw us coming with lights and cameras, and came right over.

Thomas Lester - Wow… she’s gorgeous! Great job with the lighting, too. You guys are really starting to be masters of the strobe!

Lindsay - Thanks so much Thomas! I must give credit to Brandon on that sky – he is the one doing all of the OCF!
